Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOn February 11, 2008, Margaret passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital her family by her side. Marg was the loving and much-loved aunt of John, Jill and James Rae, and their children, and cousin of Ann and Bob Wynn and Donna Malloy. Born September 30, 1914 in Minitonas, MB to MacDuff and Laura Rae. She was a devoted sister to four brothers Donald, James, John and Ronald who predeceased her, three of whom gave their lives in service to their country during the Second World War. As a girl growing up with four brothers, Marg was fun-loving, spunky and hard working, caring for her ailing father at home. Marg told many stories of adventures she had with her brothers, life on the Prairies during the 30s and the war years. After the war Marg lived with her mother in Winnipeg working at Daytons for many years and caring for her mother in her later years. Marg was a talented gardener, needleworker and cook. Her pickles, fudge and cookies pleased generations of family and friends. She proudly lived independently until her last days, attributing her long life to Divine purpose, and being a tough old bird, descending from a long line of strong women. She was an enthusiastic sports fan enjoying hockey and football. She loved a good joke, doing puzzles, having tea parties with her friends, visits from her family, and always making room for a cousin, nephew, friend or pet. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and extended family. To honour the memory of Margaret, a memorial service will be held May 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Rd., Winnipeg. An interment service to follow at Thomson In the Park , 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
