Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySISTER IDA SPENCE Sister Ida Spence (Sr. Marie Catherine Labouré) passed away at Taché Centre in St. Boniface on May 27, 2008 at the age of 84 years. She was a member of the religious congregation of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface for 58 years. Ida was born in Eddy Stone, MB on October 31, 1923. Her father Joseph Spence was born in Ste Rose du Lac, MB, and her mother Nancy Campbell was born in Kinosota, MB. Sr. Ida leaves to mourn her passing the members of her religious congregation, her sister, Florence Hayes, her nieces Patricia, Joan and Deborah, her great-niece Kathy and many relatives and friends especially Father Paradis, Father Massé and the Oblate Fathers. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Nancy Spence, her brothers, Jim (Avena Ducharme), Arsene (Adeline Chartrand), Emile (Claudia Ducharme), Lawrence, George Alfred, Joseph Hermas, Angus (Antoinette Zastre), three brothers at birth, her sisters Mary (Emile Rainville) and Maggie and a brother-in-law Fred Hayes. The prayers are on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel at 601 Aulneau Street, Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the same address at 10:00 a.m. Father François Paradis, omi, will preside the celebration. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2008 immediately following the funeral service in the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street. Donations in memory of Sister Ida Spence may be sent to the Aulneau Renewal Centre, 601 Aulneau Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2H 2V5. The Aulneau Renewal Centre is a counseling centre founded by the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface. 586-8044
