God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So he put his arms around you And whispered come to me So when he saw you sleeping So peaceful free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again SHARON ELIZABETH MARIE BORIS (nee HELGASON) Peacefully with her family by her side Sharon Boris slipped into God's hands on Monday, May 26, 2008 Sharon was predeceased by her infant son Chad. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Shona (Mike) and grandson Jonathon, her sons Trevor (Cole) and Ryan, her parents Wally and Betty Helgason, her sister Gayle (Pat) Fallu, their family, Godson Shawn (Heidi, Madison and Kylie), Patrick (Nancy, Carley-Ann, Edwin), Melanie (Mike, Kayla, Michael, Mason), Dana and Jody, and her sister Wanda (Michael) Bruenig, and their family, Goddaughter Elisa (Wes), Jordan and Mikkela, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. Sharon was born in the Gimli Hospital on July 21, 1952, living in Arnes until 1961 when the family moved to Selkirk, MB. She continued her education in Selkirk and then completed her Certificate in Teaching from the University of Manitoba. Sharon's passion for life was filled with pride and memories she shared with her family. She was a proud and independent woman who loved to give and spend countless hours crafting gifts that we are now left to cherish. Sharon lived her faith and those who she touched felt her kindness and giving nature. In 1998 her life was blessed with her grandson Jonathon who she dedicated her life and love to for the past nine years. She is now his guardian angel and will watch over him from above. Sharon was always giving of her time and volunteered throughout her life to a variety of different events and organizations, especially her church. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Antonenko and Dr. Fuchs, and the nursing staff of the Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness and support during Sharon's brief stay. A service of prayer will be held Friday, May 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church, 329 Clandeboye Ave., Selkirk, MB. Refreshments to follow immediately after the service. Interment will follow refreshments where all family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon's memory may be made to the 'Jonathon Boris Trust Account' at any branch of the Cambrian Credit Union. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
