RUTH ELIZABETH KRIER (nee BOWLER) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on May 25, 2008. She will be dearly missed and often remembered by her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Arthur Wakin; grandchildren, Lorinda Lacey (Brian), Darren Wakin (Annette), Kary McCorrie (Cameron), Tammy Martin (Cristofer); great-grandchildren, Stuart, Connor and Holly-Lyn McCorrie, Branden Lacey, Alexander, Sidney Wakin (and their mother Bridgette Dell) and Jamie Wakin (and mother Krista Salchert). Ruth was predeceased by husband Joseph and great-granddaughter Madisson Dell-Wakin. Ruth was born near Stonewall, MB and grew up on the family farm. She met and married her husband Joseph in 1940, after which they resided in Winnipeg, and in later years Tyndall, MB. She was known for her love of flowers and gardening, baking and birds, and her great love of pets. She was the centre of attention and a grapevine for the family. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the many friends and neighbours for their help and kindness, especially Barbara Merkel of Tyndall and care providers at Stoney Plains Terrace in Beausejour. The funeral service and interment will take place Friday, May 30, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers and respect for her love of animals, especially her cat and friend of 17 years, Simba, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3.
