JOHN (JACK) GORRIE On Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Jack died at the Grace Hospital at the age of 80 years. While missing him greatly his family is thankful for countless good memories. Remaining to forever cherish Jack's memory are his wife of 53 years of marriage, Carol; children Don, Barb (David), Dave (Marion), Bob (Wendy), Alan (Sue), Betty (Doug) and Diane (Cliff); his 10 grandchildren; great-grand-daughter; and brothers Ray (Rose) and Bryan (Kathy). He was predeceased by his first wife, Grace, and his parents, John and Ina Gorrie. A quiet man with a great sense of humour, Jack resided in Winnipeg since 1974, retiring here after 40 years with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He is lovingly remembered for his devotion to his family, his love of sports, his home improvement skills and his always productive vegetable gardens. In compliance with Jack's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held and a family gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Grace Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Jack's honour to the charity of your choice.
