CORINNE WESTBERG (BLOKLAND)
Date of Passing: May 28, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORINNE WESTBERG (nee BLOKLAND) Peacefully, with family by her side, Corinne passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, two weeks shy of her 71st birthday. She will be sadly missed by her husband Hal (a.k.a. Westy), daughters Kathy (Jim), Alison (Rob), son Glen (Stacey) and granddaughters Mickeely and Sophie. Corinne will also be missed by her sister Kathy (Hans) Jorgensen. She was predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Lammert, and sister Marie. Corinne had many interests that included volunteering at the local school, judging at agricultural fairs, clogging with the West End Cloggers, baking, gardening and garage sales. Her creativity was evident in her craftwork and her beautiful quilts. Each fall she especially looked forward to the craft sales at the Wigwam and Willow Cottage! An avid golfer, Corinne got her first hole-in-one during one of her many winters in Texas and last summer was the Club Champion at the Kildonan Park Ladies Golf. She was also a competitive curler winning many club championships and bonspiels, as well as being a finalist in Manitoba Provincial Senior Ladies curling on more than one occasion. However, Corinne's greatest joy and passion was music - whether playing the piano or accordion, performing with Joe and friends at numerous seniors' homes or singing in choirs. Corinne was a fiercely independent person with a kind and gentle nature. She treasured her family and friends, in particular her lifelong friend Rhoda. And of course her walks and talks with Bernice meant the world to her. She left a soft footprint on this earth. And she will be forever in our hearts. A celebration of Corinne's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. A reception will follow. Special thanks to Stacey Terry, Dr. Anna Rothova, Mattie and Dr. Chris Turner. Corinne loved animals, especially her beloved dog Oscar, so in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Glen Eden Funeral Home 338-7111 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of condolences at www.gleneden-mb.ca

To Corinne... So hard to believe that 10 years have passed... I'm glad it's the kind of day that I'm sure would have you out tending to your flowers or enjoying a beautiful walk. I will always appreciate getting to know you and keep a special place in my heart for you. Sending warm wishes of fennel, fiddle tunes, and friendship to you on the other side. - Posted by: Stacey (Friend) on: May 28, 2018
