Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLYN ALEXANDRA HARASYMCHUK GAUTHIER January 3, 1949 - February 26, 2008 Predeceased by her parents Patricia and Paul Harasymchuk. Left to cherish her memory, her son Dereck Paul Gauthier, daughter in-law Dawn Marie Angus Gauthier along with their son Wyatt Gauthier Her daughter Sheri-Lynn Sumaling, son-in-law Aldrin Prado Sumaling along with their children Brennon, Jessi-Lynn and Evan Sumaling Sweet Carolin or blue eyes as she was also known, was born in 1949 at the Pine Falls Hospital. She grew up in Lac du Bonnet, MB and was raised on a wheat and dairy farm in Springwell. She attended Red Deer School and the Lac du Bonnet Collegiate. Carolyn moved to Winnipeg where she worked at the Eaton's Company in the Shoppers Department and in 1970 Carolyn was married and had two children. Our mom loved to curl and bowl and was known to play a game or two of pool. She excelled in all that she did and was always proud of her many trophies and accomplishments. She kept herself active and was a part of the Curves program, that she truly loved. She ended a career at the Salvation Army because of her illness but she continued to dedicate her life to helping others and volunteered many years to a meals and bingo program. She loved and adored her four grandchildren. Her Angels as she called them. And found comfort in their hugs and smiles and said they were her life line. Carolyn fought her battle with cancer and was a positive example to those who were going through their own battles. She spent her last years focused on healing and improving her own life but with much sadness her cancer had a will of its own and God's plan was for her to follow. On February 26, 2008 our mom passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Cremation has already taken place. Our mom will always be remembered for her beauty and grace. Her soft smile and warm heart. And for her dedication and her true strength. She fought to the end and we couldn't be more proud! We love you and miss you already! We would like to thank the doctors, the staff at CancerCare, Riverview and homecare, all the family and many friends for your support. To nurse Betty and Toni, may you be blessed with the same compassion you showed our mom. Aunt Virginia and Aunt Gwen who are true angels. Thank you to everyone who touched our mom's heart. Father Mirak Szynal will lead the funeral services being held at the Notre Dame du Lac Parish, 163 McArthor Avenue in Lac Du Bonnet, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, believe in today and hope for tomorrow. Donations in Carolyn's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
