Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEN SANDERSON, CGA June 27, 1943 - May 22, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonard Harry Sanderson on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Misericordia Place, 44 Furby Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 64 years. Len was born in Minnedosa, the fourth son of George and Winnifred Sanderson. He attended school in Minnedosa before embarking on his career in finance with the Royal Bank in both Minnedosa and Morden. While working in the internal audit department for Gamble McLeod in Winnipeg, Len met Gwen Jenkins who soon became the love of his life. They were married in Brandon on April 20, 1968. Len went on to work for Champs Food Systems as their accountant and then became President of Neepawa Food Processors Ltd. and Country Management Services Ltd. until 1977. All the while he continued his education and received his designation as a Certified General Accountant in 1978. In October of the same year Len opened his own public practice known as Len Sanderson Company. Len's wife Gwen joined him early on in the business which they enjoyed together until Len's failing health necessitated that he go on long term disability in 2001. Len spent many hours volunteering his time with charitable organizations. He also volunteered his time and worked on various committees for the CGA Manitoba Chapter and received the honour of becoming a life member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada. Len will be remembered for his integrity, humour, charm, gentle nature and love of the outdoors. Len was predeceased by his parents and eldest brother Hugh. He leaves to mourn his wife Gwen, his brothers Jack and Bert as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thank you to Dr. Noor M. Khan, Dr. F.S. Dominique, Dr. D. E. Hobson and other medical personnel who have assisted Len on his journey. Thank you also to the dedicated staff of Misericordia Place for all their care and support. A celebration in honour of Len's life will be held at Misericordia Place, 44 Furby Street in Winnipeg on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will be held in the Sperling Cemetery, Sperling, Manitoba. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, Suite 302 - 171 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M4, or to a charity of one's choice.
