LILLIAN GLENN (formerly BONDESEN) Lillian Myrtle Glenn passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg on Sunday, May 25, 2008. She was 83 years old. Lillian was born in Montreal, and throughout her lifetime remained a proud Anglophone Quebecer, and Allouettes and Canadiens fan. The daughter of Edgar and Lillian Shaw, Lillian and her sister Irene and brother Bob were raised by her father and stepmother Ethel. She served in the RCAF during the Second World War, and following the war, studied nursing, the profession that she practiced throughout her working life. Lillian was a hard-working single mother at a time when there were few sources of help for single parents. She sacrificed a great deal for her family, but she always found time to have fun with her kids, and could whip up a picnic lunch in record time for a spontaneous trip to the beach. She loved to swim and to dance. Lillian was blessed throughout her lifetime by having many close friends. Those who remain will remember her fondly and miss her always. In 1970, Lillian married Robert Glenn, and they happily shared life together until Bob's death in 2001. Lillian is survived by her two children Bruce Bondesen of Winnipeg (Tammara) and Edna Bondesen of Vancouver (Rebecca), grandchildren Amelia, Alexis, and Adrian, Dale and Judy Tilling and members of the Tilling family. The family requests that donations be made to the Winnipeg SPCA or the Mt. Carmel Clinic in Lillian's honour. The family would like to thank the staff at Mt. Carmel Clinic and Seven Oaks for their compassionate and attentive care during Lillian's illness. Special thanks to Doctors Sawchuk and Goldberg at Mt. Carmel and most recently Dr. Bhanot at Seven Oaks. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2008 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, meeting at the funeral home, with a reception to follow at Lillian's home. The family invites all of Lillian's friends to join them after the service in a celebration of her life. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
