VIOLA MERLE BINGHAM (FOLLIS)
Born: Mar 15, 1940
Date of Passing: May 31, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLA MERLE BINGHAM (nee FOLLIS) Viola Merle Bingham (nee Follis) passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on May 31, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Vi was born on March 15, 1940 on the family farm in the Wood Bay District near Pilot Mound, MB where she was raised by her parents John and Rose with her five brothers and one sister. Her love of the family farm continued throughout her life and she enjoyed returning for visits where she was always willing to lend a helping hand. After high school she took her teachers training in Winnipeg and continued her life long teaching career until her retirement in 2006. We all marvelled at her inner strength and courage right up to the end. She really enjoyed all her hospital visits with family and friends and her little dog Mindi. We will miss our dear sister, aunt and special friend. The family wishes to thank her special friends for their faithful visits to the hospital and the care and compassion shown to Vi and to her family. She enjoyed all her beautiful flowers, visits and phone calls which always brightened her day. In compliance with her wishes, no formal funeral service will be held and her wish is to return to the country for her final resting place. Thanks to the doctors and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and especially to the Riverview Health Centre for keeping her so comfortable during her last few weeks. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba (2109 Portage Avenue Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3) or Riverview Health Centre Foundation (1 Morley Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 9Z9) Miss Me But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little, but not too long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that once we shared Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take And each one must go alone It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go the friends we know, And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds, Miss me but let me go.
