Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARILYN FLORENCE HOLLAND After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother and Grandmother; Marilyn Holland on Sunday, June 1, 2008. Left to mourn are her sister, Joanne (Jocelyn, Lori, Steve); brother, Jack, and her loving children, Fr. David Kowalski, Richard (Sue), Karen (Bob), Rob (Sandra), Kurt (Angela); and her precious grandchildren; Samantha, Sarah, Sean, Mathew, Michelle, Chris, Kevin, Ashley, Tanisha and Tanner. Mom's grandchildren gave her love, respect and many hours of laughter. Mom was forever grateful to her lifelong friend Sylvia; Stacy and sisters from California. She was pre-deceased by her parents Florence and Harold Holland, and nephew Luke Holland. Growing up in Transcona, Mom attended TCI, where she was very active in sports. Besides being a full time Mom, she also worked for Eaton's, Misericordia Hospital and the Winnipeg Free Press. Mom's home was always open to many children, with Cheryl being the most treasured. Many years of solitude at the lake brought Mom closer to God as did the trip to Medjugorje. Prayers will be held on Thursday evening, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m., also in the Church, with Marilyn's son, Rev. Fr. David Kowalski, presiding. Interment will follow in Transcona Cemetery, 5014 Dugald Road. We are truly thankful for the loving support from; Yvonne, Mary, Bill and Bernie, Bob and Corky, Rod and Cathy, Bill, and Fr. Rene. A sincere thank you to Dr Maxwell, Jan and Astrid from the Oncology department of Victoria Hospital as well as the AMAZING staff at the Grace Hospice. Mom spoke affectionately of her sister Joanne, friends; George and Fran, Ken and Marianne, Katherine, Brenda, Sr. Agnes, Louise, Diane, Helen, Tracy and Garth, Pauline, Deacon Robert, Florence, Rose, John, Claude and many others. In lieu of flowers donations can be made for Abused Women and Children c/o Osborne House P.O Box 397 Winnipeg, MB or the Grace Hospice Foundation.
