MARY HRABYK (nee KUZENKO) April 23, 1921 - June 1, 2008 With her daughter by her side at Holy Family Home, Mom peacefully continues her journey to her Heavenly Father. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Nadia; nephew, Peter of London, England; niece, Marianne (Greg) and great-nieces, Amanda and Emilia all of Mississauga, ON; and Cathy Metelnick. She was predeceased by her husband, Victor; son, John; parents, John and Pearl; sister, Olga; brother-in-law, Henry Metelnick. Mary was born in the Point Douglas area and attended Norquay School. Mom and Dad were married September 28, 1940 at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she also joined the UCWLC, receiving her 60 year member pin in 2004 with much pride. Mom was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, attending many concerts and functions. She was happy cooking and baking, especially perogies, cinnamon buns and her great carrot cake which she shared with friends and neighbors. Mom became a resident at Holy Family Home in April 2000. Thank you to all the staff on 2A and 3A, especially Krystyna, Doris and Linda, who cared for Mom with compassion and kindness and made Mom's stay so comfortable. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6 at St. Andrew's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. with Fr. L Ratushniak, C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave. Winnipeg, R2W 1T9 or to a charity of one's choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
