Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMITCHELL WAGNER Peacefully, on May 29, 2008, Mitchell Wagner passed away after a brief illness at the age of 90. Funeral services were held June 2 at the Chesed Shel Emes Chapel, with interment at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Mitch leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Dora of 61 years, his son Arne (Gail), daughter Shauna (Thomas) Braun, grandchildren Laura, Ian and Amy, sister Leona, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Martin Billinkoff, Arnie Frohlich, Ian Dudeck, Cary Kravetsky, Brian Hirsch and Gordie Koffman. Bob Lenoff was an honourary pallbearer. Throughout his life, Mitch always strove tirelessly to help others. Following his Second World War service overseas in the RAF and a career in business, he taught mathematics (in, among others, a school for disadvantaged girls), helped immigrant families join the community, worked to rehabilitate stroke victims, and regularly visited the ill and infirm. He was a past president of the Talmud Torah Synagogue, a past member of the board of directors of Camp Massad and an active member of Chavurat Tefila. He was always available to give of his time and energy to anyone in need of his assistance, never asking for thanks or recognition. Mitch was also a championship tennis player, accomplished at badminton, and a lover of music and reading. He took delight in fashioning puzzles and games for youngsters in his family, his classrooms and his circle of friends. He authored a poignant memoir of his North End upbringing and experiences. Mitch will be sadly missed by his family and by the many others to whom he unstintingly gave of his friendship, help and love. Memorial contributions may be made to Chavurat Tefila, 459 Hartford Avenue.
