BERNARD (BURNIE) WILGOSH 1927 - 2008 Once there were 11 and now there are none. Burnie was born in Brokenhead, Manitoba on July 14, 1927 during the hungry thirties to Margaret and John Wilgosh. They had nine boys and two girls. He was the last boy to be born and the most mischievous. He was predeceased by his parents Margaret and John and his brothers, Eddy, Joe, Kasemere, Tony, George, Stanley, John Jr., Frank and two sisters Ann Kazina and Mary Paterson. He leaves behind his first love, Mary of 59 years; two children Blair (Trudy) and Elaine (Ken) Shostak and their two children Kristian and Travis and one sister-in-law Steffie Wilgosh. He worked for the CNR for 38 and a half years. He also worked part time for Reimer's Express. Burnie's passion was fixing up cars and classic trucks. He fixed three of them and gave them all away. Burnie had a Gift. If he didn't know how to do a job, he would go to sleep, wake up in the morning and his problem was solved. His brother Tony had the same Gift. Burnie also passed on the Gift to his son Blair. His mother instilled in him the great love he had for the Blessed Virgin Mary. He treasured the time spent with his son Blair and Trudy and their circle of friends. He was thankful for the people who brought joy to his life - Henry and Lorraine Klein and their families and Stan Wilgosh who he regarded as a brother. His travels through the medical institutions for the past six months have become a journal unto itself. Burnie worked too hard and too many long hours but he was doing what he wanted to do. He was also the neighbourhood handyman. He was able to find serenity in his own solitude. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue, West at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bruce Wilgosh, Roger Kintop, Dale Klein, Lorraine Klein, Derwyn Sokoloski, Don Wilgosh. Honorary pallbearers are Stan Wilgosh, Henry Klein, Dennis Dolphin and Louis Laroque. A special thank you to Dr. Piotr M. Czaykowski who never gave up on Burnie, as well as Katie de Leon - Demare of Access Clinic Transcona. A special mention and thank you to Mike, Dennis, John and Colin, our very thoughtful neighbours. Flowers gratefully declined.
