HAROLD ARCHIBALD SIMPKINS With his loving family by his side, Harold Archibald Simpkins passed away on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the age of 80 at the Victoria General Hospital. Harold was predeceased by his loving wife Lillian in Winnipeg this past January. Remaining to cherish his memory are his children, Ken, Nancy (Jim Brennan), Chris (Cathie Hamm), Lucille (Bert Martin): his daughter-in-law Peggy Simpkins, Harold's four grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Michael and David, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Harold was born on November 26, 1927. Harold's parents, Archie and Adeline Simpkins were long time residents of St. James. Harold worked for CJOB, CKY television, and CBC television for many years as an electronics technician. He was interested in the new world of electronics and in his 79th year he got his first computer. Harold coached hockey at the old rink at LaVerendrye School and was a keen Blue Bomber fan. In recent times he was quick to use the computer to connect with politicians of every type from local councilors to Presidential candidates. Respecting Harold's wishes there will be no funeral. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Emergency and Intensive Care Unit of the Victoria General Hospital, in particular, Jennifer of the Pastoral Care Department for their care and attention given to our father.
