IRENE LIONBERG January 26, 1924 - June 1, 2008 Peacefully, Irene passed away in the loving arms of her daughter, Carrie, at Riverview Health Centre. Also surviving are her son, Robert Lionberg and his wife Laura; her cherished grandchildren: Daniel, Rachel and Alexander; many family and friends in Winnipeg and her birthplace of Chicago. Irene was predeceased by her husband of many years, Robert (Red) Lionberg. Irene was graciously supported on the day of her final passage by special friends, Tracey and Sharon. Her family is profoundly grateful for the many years of respectful and compassionate care by the staff at Riverview and her physician, Dr. K. Pickard. Irene was notable for her wit and intelligence, her skill as a story-teller, her enthusiastic appreciation of music, and her graceful dancing. She will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to have known her. Interment and a private family service in celebration of Irene's life will take place in Chicago, although donations may be made in her memory to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 9Z9.
