I often think of Mrs Heimbecker, a little girl of 10 visiting in Alberta in 1984, I remember her telling me stories her house, collections and of her life in Winnipeg and how she moved her house brick by brick on the train to Alberta. I loved that visit, I was looking at my pictures recently, fondly remembering my silly questions that day. I asked "do you have secret passageways lol, she was always so kind and welcoming. She made me feel like family. I will always remember her - Posted by: Donna-may letkeman (Family friend, through Bill barker Donalda Is my mother) on: Aug 16, 2024

As her care giver I came to know and love Gladdie. I also learned a lot from her even though she couldn't talk very much. We shared stories in our own way. I got to light a candle for her in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris just as I had promised her, a place befitting her memory. I know she would be pleased. - Posted by: Kinna Edwards (care giver) on: Apr 25, 2012
