LORNE DAVID NEUFELD March 1, 1961 - May 30, 2008 When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Peacefully on Friday May 30, with his wife and best friend Mavis by his side, Lorne passed away after a lengthy illness. Lorne was an extremely strong and proud man; he showed remarkable strength dealing with his pain and fought his illness with quiet determination and dignity. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mavis and her son Derrick (Karen), grandchildren Adam and Paige; together with his mother Clara, and his family Jim (Bonnie), John (Debbie), Ron (Evelyn), Lil (Wally), Bob, David (June); and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Lorne was predeceased by his father David, and brother Danny. Lorne was a part owner of Accurate Lawn and Garden where he worked for his entire life. He was a master mechanic and could fix just about anything. He was the Go to Guy for his friends and co-workers; everyone who knew him will miss him. His final wish was to go to his cabin one last time, which he did on Saturday, May 24. The very next morning he was admitted to Riverview Health Centre where he spent his last days. Mavis and the family would like to thank his doctors, and nurses for their caring support and loving care that they provided Lorne and family during his short stay. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be So He put His arms around you and whispered 'Come with Me.' With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. In accordance with Lorne's wishes cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held. Friends are invited to Celebrate Lorne's life and to visit with his family at a Memorial Reception on Saturday, June 7 between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Green Acres Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Please stop by and share your memories of Lorne. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
