Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD AARON (LEN) MULVEY February 6, 1931 - June 5, 2008 Len fought long and valiantly, but lost his battle with cancer at the Teulon Hospital on Thursday, June 5, 2008. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley; sons - Terry and friend Pat, Lloydminster, AB; Craig and Tannys, Edmonton, AB; daughters - Geri and Brian Hogg, Warren; Heather and George Beck, Lethbridge, AB; Valerie, Winnipeg and family friend Marian Loewen; son-in-law Don Day; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother and sister-in-law Stan and Shirley Mulvey, Burlington, ON; stepdaughters Pat and Dan Jahns-Kraak; Phyllis Jahns and Ted Leach; stepson Ken Jahns all of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law Marina Mc Dougall and Phyllis Schwartz as well as nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his first wife Helen, daughter Patricia, daughter-in-law Cindy, his parents and brothers Cliff and Fred. Len was born in McAuley, MB and spent his early years there, at Tantalyn and Virden. As a young man he moved to Winnipeg and in 1953 joined the Winnipeg Fire Department. He retired as District Chief in 1991. Before retiring, Len moved to a rural area and enjoyed raising cattle on his farm on P.R. 322 and a few years later moved to a larger acreage on P.R. 415. In 2002 he moved to Teulon with his wife Shirley and lived there until his death. Len's children and grandchildren were of the utmost importance to him and he was very proud of what they accomplished. He was a farmer at heart and loved to drive around on quiet country roads watching for any kind of wild life and to watch how the crops were progressing. He was a people person and enjoyed the company of his many friends and enjoyed meeting with his fire fighting buddies. A prayer service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2008. Funeral service will be held at Teulon Centennial Hall on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Pall bearers will be his six grandsons, Jason and Aaron Hogg, Adam and Eric Day and Warren and Lee Mulvey. In lieu of flowers donations in Len's memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 676 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, the Firefighter's Burn Fund or the charity of your choice.
