LES STEEDS (William Joseph Leslie Steeds) Peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, Les Steeds, beloved husband of Lorna, passed away at Oakview Place at the age of 88 years. Along with his wife Lorna, Les will be greatly missed by his children, Bill (Marsha) Steeds, Lynne (Rod) Macpherson, Janet Tittel, Kathy and Neil Pruden, Doris Resky and Bev and Ed Roziere; and his grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa), Marc and Graham Steeds, Heather (Christopher) Parrott, Jennifer and Christopher Tittel, Sandra and Gérald Proulx, Pam and Scott Negrich, Shawna Jones, Chris and Alyssa Jones; and great-grandchildren, Danielle, Violet and Natalie. Les' life was a testament of his faith in Jesus Christ to those he worked with as a flight instructor during World War II then as an electrician with the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 for 35 years and to all who knew him. His faith was also evident in his ministry of music and leadership within The Salvation Army. Once you have tasted flight, you will walk forever with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return - Leonardo DaVinci. To our dear husband, father and grandfather, you tasted flight, you lived your life looking heavenward and now you soar forever in your eternal rest. We love you! Special thanks to all of the staff at Oakview Place for their wonderful comfort care particularly during Les' final days. A Celebration of Les' life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 9 at The Salvation Army Heritage Park Temple, 825 School Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Les' memory can be made to The Salvation Army or the Winnipeg Humane Society. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
