EMIL FIGUR December 14, 1929 June 4, 2008 Emil Figur, aged 78 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, Manitoba. Emil is survived by his wife Erika of 55 years and his son Hans. He was predeceased by his mother Auguste, his father Emil, and his sisters, Edith and Alma. Left to cherish his memory are his nephews Werner and Gerd, his niece Astrid, his cousin Paul in Germany, his friend Vera, and other family and friends. Emil was born in Plohsen, East Prussia on December 14, 1929. Emil, along with his parents, wife and son immigrated to Manitoba in 1965. He worked as a diesel engineer in Germany and as a welder in Winnipeg. Aside from his family, Emil had a love for travelling, hunting and fishing. Viewing will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Russell Funeral Home in Beausejour, Manitoba. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. also at Russell Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Beausejour with a reception to follow at Russell Funeral Home. The family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Campbell and all the staff at East Gate Lodge for their wonderful care.
