Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEANNETTE VAN DEN DRIESSCHE (nee CARRIERE) October 19, 1944 - June 4, 2008 After a long courageous battle with cancer that mom fought with determination, we are filled with grief to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and best friend Jeannette on June 4, at the age of 63. She will lovingly be remembered by her husband and soul mate Robert and their children, Colin (Mavis - Taylen, Jenae, Mykena) Laura (Rick Rekrut - Todd, Garett) Remi (Chantal - Janique, Sylvie, Miguel) and Shawn (Jennifer - Liam). She was predeceased by her mother and father, Andrew and Marie Carriere and brothers, Edmond and Lucien. Mom's compassion for others was endearing and genuine. She truly always thought of others before herself. We are so proud of mom's accomplishments. She has definitely made an impact on anyone that had the privilege of knowing her - we all learned a lot from her and her many strengths. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the support and prayers received from family, friends and the angels that walk among us. We appreciate the incredible assistance from the palliative care staff, doctors, nurses and aides at the Bethesda Hospital. Special thanks to Michelle, Don and Karen for their support and time spent with us. Her children are forever grateful to their father for his undying commitment and devotion. As mom requested, there will be only one service and cremation has taken place. The celebration of her life will take place on Monday, June 9 at 2:00, at St. Emile Church, 556 St. Anne's Road in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeannette's memory may be made to Bethesda Hospital CancerCare, Box 939, Steinbach, MB R5G 1A3 Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel 1-204-346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030

Her contagious laugh and warm smile infected everybody around her. We know that many good memories can be shared by all who have been influenced by her. She will truly be missed by all.
