JOHN WOODBURY RUPERT It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John Rupert in Winnipeg, MB on June 2, 2008 at the age of 75 years. He will be sadly missed by his children, Lana Michell (Brenda), John Paul Michell, Addy Oseni (Tunde), Jean Amendt (husband) and Denise Ross; his sisters, Ramona Prettie, Delores McDonald; a brother Andy Rupert, grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. John was born on December 28, 1932 to Lawrance and Lena Rupert in Victoria Beach, MB and was a commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg and in later years a fishing guide in the Northwest Territories and Northern Manitoba. He was an accomplished singer and guitar player, loved telling tales of his many travels and always had a great sense of humour and an overly generous heart. Memorial service to be held on Monday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Officiating clergy will be Rev. Bruce. Honorary pallbearers - William Prettie, Jason Rupert, Greg McDonald, Robert McDonald, John Lagimodiere and Barry Harding.
