ARCHIBALD DRYNAN GRAHAM Quietly on Thursday, June 5, 2008, Archie passed away. Predeceased by Diana, his wife of 63 years, he will be sorely missed not only by his extended family but also by his many, many friends. Born October 25, 1916 in Glasgow, Scotland Archie spent many years in the Royal Air Force, serving during the war in Crete where he was one of the last to escape, two weeks after the fall of the island. Evacuated to North Africa he served until the surrender of the North Africa Corp. After a short stay in the UK he landed at Normandy on D Day + 11 and was in Holland on VE Day. Post war postings to Singapore and Aden (now Yemen) completed his full time military career. After immigrating to Canada in 1957 he worked in the Aviation industry and served with the 402 Squadron and later as adjutant of the newly formed Air Force Cadet Pipe Band. In 1980 he and Diana formed Graham Realty, which they operated well past normal retirement age. Retirement brought some travel but for Archie it was always talking to people that made him the happiest. He had been living the past six months at Centre Tache whose wonderful staff made his time there better than his situation would have dictated. In lieu of flowers a donation to Centre Tache, 185 Rue Despins R2H 2B3. A Memorial Service will be held at the St. James Presbyterian Church, 1476 Portage Ave., on Monday, June 9 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
