EDNA DUCHOMINSKY (nee GELETCHUK) 1936 - 2008 It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Edna Duchominsky on June 5, 2008 at Minnedosa Hospital. Born on January 23, 1936 in the Ukraine, she immigrated to Roma, Saskatchewan in 1938 and then moved on to Winnipeg in 1954. It was there that Edna met the love of her life, Wesley, whom she married in the summer of 1970. They were blessed with three children: Myrna (deceased), Jodi and Vern. The family later settled in Erickson where they raised their family and became part of the community. Edna filled many roles during her lifetime; she was a loving and dedicated wife and mother, a friend, a mother-in-law and meant many things to different people. She had strong roots in her Ukrainian culture and she was proud of her children and always spoke of them. Edna was a fighter and those who knew her also knew of her strong presence. She listened, she loved, she lost and she fought. She did not want to burden others. She was a survivor, but lost her last battle against cancer. Predeceased by her husband Wes in 2000, Edna leaves behind her children, Jodi and Vern (Linda), her brothers, nieces and nephews and dear friends. Time escapes us, it passes us by whether it came too early or appeared too late. Memories will remain, vivid and strong while we know, that life must go on. Alive in our hearts, we will not forget. Time shared together, never will we regret. We miss you Mom and we will love you forever.
