DORIS AILEEN TUCKER (AILEEN) (nee DALZELL) On Friday, June 6, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Mother Tucker died peacefully after a brief illness. Aileen was born at Treherne, Manitoba on December 8, 1924 at a nursing home to Dora and Harvey Dalzell. She received her education at Elgin, Croll, Primrose, and Fairfax. Upon completion of Grade 11, Mom joined the work force at the Royal Bank of Canada where she was employed until she retired. She married Buster Tucker in November 1945. They resided at Margaret, Minto and then in Winnipeg. Following Dad's death, Mom moved to Lion's Manor in Stonewall where she was close to family. She began a new adventure, making many good friends along the way. Aileen is survived by daughters Sandra (Hughie) Margetts of Minto, Brenda (Murray) Margetts and their children Derek and Ryan of Stonewall. She will fondly be remembered by Derek and Ryan, special friends, Jaime and Mandie. She is also survived by her brother Gordon ( Bud ), sisters Bernice, Lois, and Beryl, sisters-in-law Enna Tucker and Donna (Alex) Veitch, and many nieces and nephews. Aileen was predeceased by her husband George ( Buster ), her parents, Dora and Harvey, her brother Welland, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. We wish to thank our families and friends for their concern, support, and messages of sympathy. Our sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Stonewall Hospital and St. Boniface Intensive Care Unit. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends and family so desire donations in Aileen's memory should be made to a charity of your choice. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space; He then looked down upon this earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, And lifted you to rest; God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the very best. He knew that you were in pain, He knew that you might never, Get well upon this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb; So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered Peace be Thine . It broke our hearts to lose you, But you never went alone; For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
