RONDA LEE GENIK (nee BARTMAN) March 9, 1968 - June 7, 2008 After a long and courageous battle with cancer that Ronda fought with determination, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronda on June 7, 2008 at the age of 40. Ronda will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband and soulmate Brad, and their children, Daniel, Jami, Branden, Braxton and foster children, Mitchell, Corine, Imre, Jeanette, Matthew, Tyler, Mel and Amanda. Ronda was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie and best friend. Ronda is survived by her parents Jim and Carol Bartman, sisters Kim and Cayla, brother Michael (Mary), DJ, Brittany, mother-in-law Joan Genik, sister-in-law Lori (Brent), Kody, Alexis, and Matthew. Ronda will always be remembered for having the rare ability to put the needs of others before hers. She helped everyone and touched a lot of peoples' lives. She was loving, thoughtful and generous in every way. Ronda was independent, strong-willed and tenacious in her struggle against cancer while at the same time being kind, caring and enriching the lives of others. Ronda was a vivacious and fun-loving person with tremendous energy who lived life to its fullest. Ronda was a strong supporter of all community events, especially her dedication as an avid firefighter with the Fraserwood Fire Department. She was a member for 19 years fighting fires along with her fellow firefighters. Even when she was first diagnosed she still organized all types of fundraising benefits. She tirelessly would give all she could. She will be sorely missed by all her fellow firefighters. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, our chain will link again. She will be missed by all her family and friends. We love you so much. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of CancerCare Manitoba and the Gimli Community Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for her children at the CIBC in Gimli, MB. As per Ronda's wish, cremation has taken place and a memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fraserwood Community Hall with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. VICHNAYA PAM' YAT Eternal Memory Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
