Date of Passing: Jun 07, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY JAMES MCAULEY December 8, 1922 - June 7, 2008 It is with much sadness that the family of Henry announce his passing. Henry was predeceased by his parents, Andrew McAuley and Eliza McAuley (nee Moar), brother and sister. He is survived by his wife, Viola Courchene, children (Raymond, Marlayne, Beverley, Mervin, Marilyn, and Todd), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Henry, originally from Crane River, made his home and raised a family in Fort Alexander for over 50 years. Henry was an employee of the Abitibi Price Paper Mill for over 35 years, retired, and then enjoyed the task of helping to raise his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thanks to the many friends and relatives who visited during his lengthy illness; your kindness is much appreciated. Henry is at peace with the Creator and his journey has begun to the Spirit world. No words can take the place of his laughter, smiles, and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. You were always there when we needed you No task too great or small With a loving heart and willing hand For us you did them all Many thanks for the years you gave us And for all the times we shared We only pray that when you left us You knew how much we cared In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay You faced your task with courage Your spirit did not bend But you kept on fighting Until the very end God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So He put His arms around you And whispered, Come to Me So when we saw you sleeping So peacefully, free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again You didn't deserve what you went through So He took you home to rest God's garden must be beautiful For He only takes the best Wake services at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church; Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers: Darren Courchene, Scott Linklater, Vince Fontaine, Tony Dorie, Clifford Courchene, and Jerry Fontaine. Honorary Pallbearers: Percy, Jimmy, Joe, Cyril, Trevor, and Don.
