MYRTLE MARY SUNDBERG 1915 2008 Myrtle passed away peacefully June 7, 2008 at the Misericordia Health Centre. Myrtle was born in Durban, Man. to George and Mary Harvey. Her early education was at Durban Consolidated School and in Dauphin for Grade 12 and Normal Training. She taught school from 1934 until 1941 when she went to Ottawa to work in the Naval Department for the war effort. She married Darcy Sundberg in 1944, and they resided in Winnipeg except for the years in Flin Flon, 1951-1956. In later years Myrtle returned to spend many happy years teaching in Winnipeg at River Heights, Sir John Franklin and John Dafoe Schools. She was predeceased by husband Darcy, her parents, her sister Marjorie in childhood, two brothers, Russell and Morris, sister in law Lavina and a nephew Frank. She is survived by a sister-in-law Doris Harvey of Kelowna, B.C. and five nieces. Myrtle was a member of Westworth United Church, Patricia Chapter #8 Order of Eastern Star, Women's Teacher's Association and life member of the Elizabethan Club I.T.C. She was a people person and her relatives and friends meant so much to her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 12, at 2:30 p.m. at Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. Rev. Clark Saunders officiating.
