Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEX (BARNEY) BERNARDIN Surrounded by his family, Alex died peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Dad was born on September 5, 1924 in Elie, MB and moved to St. Boniface at the age of 13. He met Julie Nolin, they married in 1950 and raised their family in St. Vital. Alex worked for 46 years at MacMillan Bathurst where he was known as the Chief . Dad loved to sit and feed the birds in his backyard. He enjoyed listening and dancing to country music. Dad had a great sense of humour and loved playing pranks on his family and friends. Alex was predeceased by his beloved wife Julie in 1991 and his brother Chuck. Dad is survived by his children: Elaine (Norm), Maurice, Paul, Annemarie (Kevin) and Diana (Gordie); his three grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren and Ryan; his brother Andy (late Gertie), his sister Terry (Orland) and sister-in-law Terry (Ed) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff of 5ABC at Taché Centre for their care and compassion. Funeral service will take place at St. Emile Roman Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Rd. on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. We will miss you Dad and will love you forever.
