ROGER C. LACHANCE Following a long courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend on Monday, June 9, 2008. Roger leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 42 years Carole; his four children, Hubert (Arlene), Danys (Stephanie), Nicole (Rick) and Guylaine (Darryl); his seven grandchildren, Joanna, Kamryn, Alix, Carter, Veronique, Eve and Alexis; his two brothers Gilbert and Julien and their families. Roger grew up on a farm in St. Eustache, Manitoba. As a youth, Roger studied and resided at Le Collège Saint-Boniface where he developed many lifelong friendships and a passion for acting. Always fond of money and numbers, he pursued a career in accounting with Forêt Guenette, Peter Leitch Construction, Pile Foundations and he finished his career with Harris Holdings. For all those who knew Roger, you know how he had a STRONG passion for the game of golf. He always enjoyed a good glass of red wine, hunting in Melita, bowling and working in his garden. Roger impacted many people over the course of his life with his big heart and great sense of humour. Roger always made time for his family from barbeques to Sunday brunches and family trips. He also took the time to travel with his loved one Carole to Mazatlan, Mexico, visiting the Marez family. They had such amazing times that they travelled there more than 20 times! Our family would like to thank family, friends and neighbours who have supported us over the years. Your support, compassion and friendship have provided our family with the strength to continue our fight. Your kindness never went unnoticed. So from Roger's own words of Dead Eye Rog , and I cut those fairways in half , his memory lives on. A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road, on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. A donation from Roger was made to the Canadian Eye Bank. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba at www.cancer.ca.
