FREDERICK MURDOCH MCKAY Passed peacefully on June 9, 2008 at Grace Hospital. Fred was born October 16, 1916 at High Bluff, Manitoba, son of Daniel and Mabel and brother to Isabel, Alex and Jesse. He is fondly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Donalda and children, Grant (Kay), Larry (Birgitta), Heather (Bill); grandchildren, Greg (Manon), Jeff (Joanne), Cory, Suzanne, Jade and Katelin; great-grandsons Jackson and George; nephew Bill McKay. Fred left the family farm to serve from 1941 to 1946 as a member of the 20th Field Engineers and Royal Canadian Signals. Upon discharge from the military he embarked on a career of transport driving until his retirement in 1983. He was most proud of his 25 years with Trimac Transportation and his many safe driving awards. Countless memories from family camping trips, holidays and special occasions will be treasured. Our family expresses sincere appreciation to Grace Hospital 3rd Floor Staff and special thanks to Cindy for her compassion and professionalism in guiding all of us through a difficult evening. Family and friends are invited to join us in a celebration of his life at St. James Legion #4, 1755 Portage Avenue, on Friday, June 13, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Salvation Army Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB R3C R32 or a charity of one's choice. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
