LEILA A. LITTLEWOOD July 16, 1915 - June 11, 2008 Peacefully, after a difficult fight with cancer at Victoria General Hospital. Leila leaves to mourn her sisters, Bea Attree, Joyce Lloyd and Marg Lacey; sister-in-law Irene Mitchell; daughters, Joan Riches, Shaunda Hanlon (Patrick), Leila Breman (Tony), son John Littlewood (Dana) and grandchildren, John, Matthew, and Steven Riches, Mike and Heather Storaschuk, Robert and Andrew Breman, Aaron, Nicole, Riley and Darcy Littlewood; three great-grandchildren and two on the way; numerous nieces and nephews. Leila grew up on Rosedale Avenue and after her marriage to Berry, an R.C.M.P. Cst. lived in Regina, Winnipeg, Gimli, Winnipegosis and Dauphin before moving back to Winnipeg in 1955. In 1974 Leila and Berry retired to Vernon, BC until Berry's passing when she returned to Winnipeg and the Riverview area. Leila's family was most important to her as were her many friends she made in Riverview, St. Alban's Church, Vernon, BC and The Golden Rule Seniors. Leila had a zest for life as shown in her travelling and her hobbies; St. Alban's Church Choir, curling, bridge, knitting and crocheting afghans for various fund raisers. Many thanks to the 5th Floor staff at Victoria General Hospital for their patience and kindness to Mom and our family. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's, Anglican Church on Saturday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m., 19 St. Marks Place, (at Mager Drive). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
