IRENE MAY VANDERPUTTEN May 26, 1915 June 7, 2008 Irene May Vanderputten of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the age of 93 years. Irene was born in North Battleford, SK and grew up in Winnipeg, MB where she met and married Cornie before moving to Alberta as a young bride. She and Cornie had a lifelong association with the United Church as active members from their youth. Irene served as secretary of Pleasant Heights United Church for over 25 years. Irene's strong Christian faith and values were always apparent to all. These high values have made a positive impact on her family, friends, and all who knew her. Irene is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Peter Morgan of Red Deer, AB; two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Sheila Vanderputten of Calgary and Ross and Chris Vanderputten of Victoria, BC; as well as nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Kauffman of Winnipeg MB and two brothers and sister-in-law, Don and Vivian Graham of Winnipeg, MB and Jack Graham of Belleville, ON. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius in 1998. Funeral Services will be held at Wild Rose United Church (1317-1 Street N.W.) Calgary, AB on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. (Parking Relaxation in effect). If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Wild Rose Memorial Fund (1317-1 Street N.W. Calgary, AB T2M 2S5 (403)277-5576).
