IRENE REMPEL (nee FILIPCHUK) Irene Rempel lost her battle with leukemia on June 10, 2008 at the age of 58 years. Irene is survived by her two children, Angela (Ian) Richards (nee Rempel) and David (fiancée Allie Wood) Rempel, as well as her three siblings, Grace Wereta, Donna Jean and Doug Filipchuk. Her co-workers at the Province of Manitoba knew her as a friendly voice, a warm welcoming smile, and a wonderful friend and mentor. Irene will be remembered as a kind soul and a warm heart, who consistently put the needs of others before her own. The family extends their warmest gratitude to friends and family, Judy Vanderhorst, Marilyn McLeod, Donna Filipchuk and Liz Kazimirowicz, who lovingly cared for her in her final weeks. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.
