ELSIE FERENS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Ferens on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the age of 87. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Patricia; son-in-law, Al; grandchildren, Keith (Shaleen) and Ainslie (Newton); great-grandchildren, Evan and Alexander; sister, Mary (Tom); brother, Walter; sister-in-law, Mary Melnyk (Walter); brother-in-law, Jim Wasson (Shirley); many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve; mother, Ann; father, Harry; sisters, Margaret and Phyllis; granddaughter, Alyson. Elsie was born March 10, 1921 in Rivers, MB and was raised in Winnipeg. She was employed at the Manitoba Motor League for 16 years. Elsie was an active part of the community where she enjoyed volunteering much of her time as the treasurer for various different clubs, including the Ladies Auxiliary (Kniahynia Olha), Legion 141 Auxiliary Branch and the Seniors Achievers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. O. Klassen and the nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and support. She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 13 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Siloam Mission. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
