Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM KENNETH BROADBERRY May 3, 1932 - June 10, 2008 Peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, Ken passed away at the age of 76 years. Ken was born at the Queen Charlott's Hospital in London, England to Daisy (Merrick) and Tom Edward Bonsall Broadberry (both deceased). He was educated at Berridge Road School, in Nottingham, England, as well as at Nottingham Art College and as a part-time student at the Nottingham University. Ken served in the Royal Air Force as an armourer (bombs, guns two turrets) from 1950 to 1952. He came to Canada, met Noella L'Heureux and they married on October 8, 1971. Ken was very proud to have served with the Police Service in Nottingham from 1953 to 1957, then as a police officer with the Winnipeg Police Service from 1957 until his retirement in 1993. Ken was very involved and took pleasure in competitive sports with his close group of friends through his hobby. Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years Noella; his mother-in-law Pearl Hermanson; Noella's seven siblings; many nieces, nephews, as well as his wonderful family and friends in England. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff especially his little Angel at the Health Sciences Centre. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13 at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons Street. Interment will follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery.
