HUGH JOHN MACDONALD April 10, 1949 - June 11, 2008 I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars. I left this world a rich man knowing that my life has been generously blessed with the love of my family, many friends and of course my fur family (Bailey and Yoda). Celebrate, today knowing that I am free of pain and that I am with my father, Don MacDonald, whom I have missed so much. I am looking forward to meeting with God and I want to encourage you to be still with yourselves every day so that when God is speaking to you, you can hear what he is saying. Humor and laughter are important to me and my life has been centered around this. So remember to laugh often! My life partner, Glenda Knoll, has always believed in me and I have loved and cherished every moment we had together. She lit candles, wished on stars and negotiated with God, never doubting that a cure was within reach. My family Connie (Mother), Makenzie (Daughter), Bruce (Brother), Judy (Sister), Rowen (Godchild), many nieces and nephews also stood in tireless support, as did my wonderful friends. If I have left this world and my life is defined by my fight with illness, you have forgotten who I really was -- a person who loved this world and this life. Living with cancer granted me the opportunity to welcome each day and be grateful for every moment. Don't wait for illness to do the same for you. Be sure to take care of each other to ease the pain of my passing. Thank you, everyone, for sharing your lives with me; for enriching my life and surrounding me with your generous love, understanding and support. Here is some good news...whenever you see a dog wagging his tail, that is a sign that I am not far away and I'm sending you my love And now friends and family It's Miller Time Funeral services will be held at Gordon King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave., Sunday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. My gratitude to the many medical professionals at CancerCare, Riverview and St. Boniface Palliative Care who made this journey as comfortable as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice.
