Remaining to forever cherish Gordon's memory are his wife of 65 years of marriage, Jean; daughter Jill, (Rod Hart); grandsons Glen and Greg; sisters-in-law Joan and Glenna; as well as many nieces and nephews. Gordon was born May 9, 1918 in Saskatoon Sask., son of Jean and Rudy and brother to Rhea (Cliff) and Yvonne (Barry). He grew up in Bruno and Biggar Sask. He served in the Canadian Forces, in the army from 1941 to 1947. Upon discharge he embarked on a proud 50 year career with Beaver Lumber, retiring as Purchasing Manager for Western Canada. He was a lifelong member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Masonic Lodge, and served as President of the Western Retail Lumberman Association for many years. During his life Gordon was an avid curler and dedicated football and hockey fan. He loved all sports but had a passion for the game of golf enjoying his membership at Charleswood and Southwood Golf Clubs. In retirement Gordon travelled to Florida and Arizona with his wife Jean where he continued to enjoy his rounds of golf. In compliance with Gordon's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
