JIM MACKAY It is with great sadness the family of Jim MacKay, soul mate of Connie and awesome father of Sean, announce his sudden passing on Monday, June 9, 2008 at the age of 44 years. Jim is predeceased by his great-grandfather Joseph. Left to cherish Jim's memory are his high school sweetheart Connie, adorable son Sean, along with many loving family members and friends. Jim was born May 15, 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, where he resided until 1986, then relocating to Winnipeg. Jim attended high school at Saltfleet, where he met the love of his life Connie. Jim and Connie were married July 16, 1988. In 1996 Jim and Connie gave birth to their son Sean who completed their close-knit family. Jim was employed with Standard Aero for 20 years, his dedication earned him a position in management. In these years he formed many valuable relationships. Outside of work Jim took pleasure in many hobbies such as collecting coins, gathering useless information and making a point of sharing it with others. His biggest passion was collecting Star Wars memorabilia, which was on display everywhere through his home. Jim loved the summer days when he could spend time outside in front of the garage, having Happy Hour with Connie. He enjoyed being one of the girls , listening to Connie and Danette cackle about everything. Jim treasured the moments with Sean, doing homework and projects together and taking breaks to have light saber duels . Jim loved cooking and caring for Connie and Sean and knew how much they loved it back. His family is his greatest passion. Funeral Service to honour Jim's life will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, located at 4000 Portage Avenue. Thanks to the many family, friends and the team at Standard Aero for their care and compassion. A trust fund has been set up for Sean MacKay by Standard Aero, donations may be forwarded to: Standard Aero, 33 Allen Dyne Road, Winnipeg, MB, R3H 1A1, attn: Petra Rapmund. I live in my own little world, but that's o.k. - they know me there. Jim I'll Love You Forever and a Day, 10 hours, 5 minutes, 3 seconds, 6/10 of a second and 9 milliseconds.
