MARGARET MARTHA HOWORTH With her husband John holding her hand, Margaret Howorth died peacefully at the Lions Manor in Winnipeg, Monday, June 9, 2008. Margaret Martha Armson was born in Fort William, July 7, 1910, the only child of Margaret Davidson and William Harold Armson. She met John Howorth later and married him on December 17, 1938 in Fort William. From there the couple moved to Ottawa, Regina and Winnipeg and finally to Toronto with John's job. After retirement and some extensive travel around Canada and the US, the couple returned to the City of Winnipeg where they had lived for many happy years. Margaret Howorth had a gift for friendship; she kept in touch with family and friends via the ever-present telephone for nearly 50 years. She is survived by her husband and two sons: Bill Howorth, lives in Vancouver with his wife Carol. E.J. (Ted) Howorth, lives in Winnipeg with his wife Sarah and daughter Gemma. Margaret has one grandson: Terry currently lives in Toronto. A small family service was held at the Bardal Funeral Home on Sherbrook, Friday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m., officiated by the Reverend Scott MacAuley. A larger celebration of her life for family and friends will be held in August, at a date and place to be announced.
