Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRVIN FUERST July 13, 1920 - June 11, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Beausejour Hospital. Irvin, aged 87 years, will be greatly missed by his wife, Irene of 62 years; his children, Sharon (Ronnie), Marlis, Gayard (Kathy), Glen, Randy (Rhea) and Laureen (Dennis); grandchildren Wendy (Rob), Darren (Paula), Gavin (Melissa), Hollee (Ryan), Jamie (Chad), Sheena, Jordan and Carter; great-grandchildren Jessica, Amanda, Kurtis, Brooke, Travis and Caden. Irvin was predeceased by his infant daughter Marlene; brother Eric and two infant brothers Roy and Paul; his parents Albertina and Ludwig Fuerst and stepmother Tillie. He is survived by his sisters Martha Nault (Gib), Elsie Hankins (Steve), Olga Buss (Len), Lydia Richter (Art), Irene Spence (Blake), Dennis Fuerst (Bonnie), Arlene Richter, Ken Trapp (Joan), Cecelia Latham (Garland), and Mickey Trapp (Pat). Irvin was born in Poland and arrived in Canada in 1927. He farmed in Golden Bay until his retirement in 1985. Throughout his life, Irvin also worked at cutting wood in Pine Falls; BACM Construction in Birds Hill and AECL in Pinawa. Irvin enjoyed many activities, which include gatherings with family and friends, dancing and cutting wood at home. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will take place at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 403 - 1st Street N., Beausejour. Interment will follow at the Golden Bay Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Singbeil, Marlis Fuerst, Gayard Fuerst, Randy Fuerst, Darren Singbeil and Gavin Fuerst. Honourary pallbearers will be Glen Fuerst and Dennis Stroud. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Irvin's memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
