Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTEENIE (TEANA) RYCAR September 28, 1916 June 5, 2008 With great sadness the family announces that Teana Rycar, born in Melrose, Manitoba passed away at Concordia Place at the age of 91 years. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Jean Marowitch and family: Jan Nixdorf, Michael and David (Manitoba); and Marion Lewis and family: Alice Moulder, Bill (Adrienne), Bari, Allan, Grace (Dennis) (all in British Columbia), and Bob (Manitoba); nieces and nephews, Joann Heringer (Harry) (British Columbia), Garry (Alberta), Bonita Saunders (Dennis) (Wisconsin) and Jerilyn Finerty (Indiana); nieces-in-law Carol Lewis and Carin Crowe; many grandnieces and nephews and several great-grandnieces and nephews. Teana was predeceased by her parents, John and Tekla Rycar; brothers Joe, Tom, Casmer and Mack; sister Emily; nephews Jerry Ricer and Jack Lewis; and grandnephew Ian Lewis. Teana left the family farm early in life to work in the garment trade where she sewed chamois for Victoria Leather and then went to S. Stalls and Sons where she sewed linings into coats. When Stalls was sold, she moved to Freed and Freed until she retired in 1981. She carried her talents into her retirement, sharing her expertise in sewing, cooking and knitting with grandnieces Angela, Jennifer and Marla. Although she remained single, Teana was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her nieces and nephews. Two years ago, Teana was moved to the second floor at Concordia Place. She was cared for by loving staff. Our heartfelt thanks to you all. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service and a celebration of Teana's life will be held at a later date.
