STEVE HORODECKI It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Steve, our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. Steve passed away at Victoria Hospital on June 9, 2008, after a lengthy illness. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his children Sylvia (Norm) of Winnipeg, Edward (Annette) of Guatemala; grandchildren Randy Husack (Sandi) and Lori Glowacki (Chad) of Winnipeg, Lindsay Horodeski and Colin Horodeski (Nicolette) of Fredericton, NB, Aliana Horodeski of Guatemala and great-grandson Evan Husack of Winnipeg. Steve was born on January 1, 1916 at Poplarfield, MB, where he spent most of his life. He married Anna Stasiuk in 1938 and together they farmed and resided on the family homestead until 1998 when they moved to Winnipeg. Anna predeceased him in 2004. Steve was predeceased by his parents Mike and Marta Horodecki; and seven siblings; Pearl, Harry, Phillip, Dora, Tatianka, James and Mary. He is survived by nieces and nephews, and their families. Steve was a hard worker and content to spend much of his time around home. Besides being a farmer, he was an avid hunter, a trapper, carpenter, barber, and a violin player. He enjoyed card games with family and friends and always appreciated visitors. Our family would like to thank all the nurses and homecare service personnel who cared for Dad over the past few years; especially nurse Faigie, Tora, and Kevin. Special thanks to Dr. Wowk, Dr. Adam, nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital for their care these past weeks. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with reception to follow. Interment will take place at Poplarfield Community Cemetery at approximately 3:00 p.m. on the same day. Pallbearers will be Randy Husack, David Pollick, Marvin Marykuca, Chad Stanko, Leonard Horodecki, and Norman Pownall. Honourary pallbearer; Lori Glowacki. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
