I first met Penny when I was quite young. I was only 12 or 14 years of age when we moved to Starbuck. Penny and Maurice lived not far up the road from us and I spent quite a lot of time with them. Penny and my mom were good friends and Penny was often at the house when I got home from school. She was such a bubbly, fun person. I can recall several times arriving home from school and yelling to my mom, "Whats for supper mom?" and Penny's voice would come crackling back from around dinning room where she was visiting with my mother, "Cat's ass and cabbage"! In their later years in Starbuck, keeping the firewood stocked in the house became difficult at times for Maurice and Penny and my brother and I would often visit to load the basement full of firewood. Always a very appreciative person, Penny was a delight to be around. I have long since left Starbuck but I have often thought of my then elderly friends Maurice and Penny over the years. You are never forgotten Penny! Thank you for all of the fun memories. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Daniel DeGueldre (Friend and neighbor ) on: Mar 13, 2022
