TERRANCE JACOB GERYLO 1951 - 2008 Suddenly on Wednesday June 11, Terrance (Terry) Jacob Gerylo passed away at home with his daughter by his side. He is sadly missed by his wife Debbie of 33 years, daughter Reanna Peanut , and son Michael Cowboy . He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Jean. Family and friends were important to Terry and there are so many that have been devastated by his sudden death. This includes his brother and sisters: Don, Marlene (Ken), Valerie (Terry), Darlene (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his uncle Peter Gerylo. Terry visited his uncle on a weekly basis, not out of duty but out of love. It is evident from the outpouring of support that the family has received what a wonderful and kind man he was. His pets also held a special place in his heart, Hershey, his constant companion, and Bailey (the cat he pretended to hate but which we secretly saw him petting gently out of the corner of our eye). Terry obtained a degree in Business Administration and worked at numerous banks and credit unions over the course of his career as a general manager. Those who have had the opportunity to experience his cooking know that he missed his true calling. His appetizers were artistic creations, he spent a great amount of time on their presentation (sometimes one was reluctant to eat them as they were so carefully crafted). No one could resist and of course they were divine. He loved cooking for family and friends on all occasions and especially looked forward to every Easter and Christmas in preparing our traditional Ukrainian dishes. He was also known for his amazing lake breakfasts which took hours to prepare, enjoying every minute with friends and family. Another love of Terry's was his cabin at Big Whiteshell Lake, which they purchased in 1996. It quickly became a second home for the family and many of us have spent time there enjoying Terry and Debbie's hospitality. The lake is an important part of Reanna and Michael's family life and they will never forget the time they spent there with their Mom and Dad. Terry also enjoyed travelling (once he arrived at the destination), fishing, grouse hunting and had recently taken up oil painting. There is too little space to say all that needs to be said. He was a strong and stoic man with the biggest heart ever. Always humble, kind and considerate, that was Terry. And above all, devoted to his wife and children. How blessed we were to have him for the time we did. From Debbie: Terry has been the love of my life since I was 16. I saw him in the high school gym and knew I had to make him mine. He also felt that connection. The phone rang and it was him. We have been inseparable since. We belonged together of that there was no doubt, not even two provinces could keep us apart. We married and had our kids and we were going to celebrate our 34th anniversary on October 12. No one could make me laugh like he did. We always laughed. I was his princess and we were the only ones for each other. Forever and Ever, he will be in my heart. Amen. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
