Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHERMAN (HERB) NEUFELDT April 26, 1930 - June 13, 2008 It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband and father after a lengthy but courageous battle with cancer. Herb was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by Amelia (Millie) (Marsden) his loving wife of 55 and a half years, his daughter Donna and her son Dustin (daughter Zoe), daughter Shirley (Gabe) Tougas and their children Brittany (Chris), Dana, Randy (Tammy) and her son Michael (Ashley) of Montreal, PQ, Barbara (Rob) Neufeldt-Parise and her children Jonathan (son Roxas), Amanda (Darren), and Kenneth. He is also survived by his brothers Ab of Vancouver, BC, Wally (Ella) of Prince George, BC, Henry of Edmonton, AB, Jake (Irene) of Sudbury, ON, sister Adena (Pete) Kasdorf of Vancouver, BC and his special canine daughter who always greeted him with such joy Smudge and Petite. He was predeceased by his beloved son Kenneth Dale in 1990, his parents Maria and Abraham Neufeld, his mother and father-in-law Ernest and Josephine Marsden and his sister Olga (Kehler) Dyck. Herb was born in Kleefeld, MB April 26, 1930 and he was raised in Niverville, MB. In his early years he was employed by Falconbridge Nickel Mine in Sudbury, ON. He went on to the Canadian Forces RCHA 81 Field Battery. He worked for numerous years in the construction industry throughout Canada. He was employed with CN Railway for 25 years and he retired from there in 1995. Herb was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion West Kildonan Branch for 39 years, and really enjoyed the camaraderie of the friends that he made there. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hockey and baseball. He was an awesome cook and baker and we often told him that he should have been a chef. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the WFP Service and the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital for their kindness and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion, 1748 Main Street. All are welcome.
