SOINJA GUNN (nee GAVAGA) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, and grammy Soinja May Gunn who passed on June 12, 2008. She will forever be in the hearts of husband of 33 years Albert, daughters Meagen (David) and Ashley. Grandchildren Haley May, Emma, Keaira, and Leland. Her mother, Oral Gavage, brothers Myron (Judy), Conrad (Vivian), Greg (Brenda) and sister Lenora (Peter). Longtime friends Bob and Dolly Tymchuck, Anne and Ray Reeves, Vilborg and Clifford Lindstrom. As well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her father Alfred and grandson Kaylem, her special little Angel who held her hand on the journey home. Mom was born in Winnipeg on Eastern Sunday, April 7, 1948. She grew up on a dairy farm in Springfield MB the eldest of five siblings. A born nurturer, filled with determination, compassion, love, and the knowledge that it's OK to get a little dirt under your nails. Mom was a natural in the garden and spent countless hours labouring over her own and the next person's garden. She could make a stone grow. Mom was a very devoted person and dedicated person, always putting her children first. She always let us know how much she loved us. She was also very attentive to her mother's comforts and needs. Their relationship was one that every mother and daughter hope to have. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one half hour prior to service, in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler.
