JUSTINUS (DUTCHY) ROSSONG Peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Selkirk General Hospital with his family by his side, dad completed his life's journey. Predeceased by his wife Muriel, daughter Gail and son Greg. Remaining to cherish his loving memories are his partner Lyla and many children, Glenn (Alanna), Mark (Colleen), Gil (Edna), Garry (Brenda), Scott (Karen), Michael (Darlene), Lisa (Randy), Steven (Lori), Michelle (Randy) and grandchildren, Tabitha, Brittany, Michael, Daniel (Lindsay), Kristyn, Stacey, Christopher, Matthew, Tyler, Lauren, Ashley, Kayla, Christopher, Holly, Heather, Eric, Denis, Jason and cats Pepper and Puss-Puss. Dad was born and raised in Roblin, MB and during that period he became an avid outdoorsman. As a young adult he moved to Winnipeg and on the advent of war he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and proudly served overseas in Europe. Upon his return he worked briefly as a bricklayer and then at the Northland companies for over 25 years. During that time he met and married Muriel Leigh and raised five children. In 1969, he embarked on a new career with the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation. That is where he met Lyla. They have been together ever since. To Lyla's children, he is Dad. Upon their retirement Lyla and Dutchy enjoyed many trips to Mexico, one of the most enjoyable was overseas to Holland. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, emergency services of Selkirk and District General Hospital who provided such wonderful care to our dad. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba at 200 - #6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
