OWEN ALBRECHTSEN After a courageous battle with cancer, Owen Albrechtsen passed away peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. Owen was born in Denmark on November 27, 1940. He immigrated to Canada in the summer of 1962 to join his two brothers. Owen is survived by his wife Joan, his two brothers, Paul (Mary Lou), John (Karen), and their families, and his two sisters in Denmark, Anny (Erling), Kirsten (Henning) and their families. He is also survived by Joan's children Lori (Noël) and Randy (Ardith) and their families. He leaves behind many, many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly; he was everyone's favourite Uncle Owen. He also thoroughly enjoyed the time he spent with Joan's grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 in Owen's memory. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. CHAPEL LAWN 885-9715
